This was another good read by Debby, only the second one of her books that I've read, but I have enjoyed both of them now. I was on the edge of my seat sometimes and found it hard to put the book down. I like her writing style and will try to find some more of her books, I may just have to think about reading some more of her books. If you enjoy a good mystery you will enjoy this book.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE "Stranded"!!!!
By the top of the second page, I was hooked. It was like the author had opened a door, and I was engulfed in the world of the story! The story kept twisting and turning and spinning and swirling! I really, literally could hardly put it down. This is one of the top 5 books I have read in the past year (and that's saying a lot!!!!!). The language, the writing was vivid and full. The characters had hidden secrets that kept me guessing. It was just a Great Book!!!
A complicated suspense sharpens the plot in this page-turning read. Colleen's single-mindedness is going to get her killed. I kept telling her she could trust Frank completely, but she just wouldn't listen. So frustrating. On the other hand, Frank's issues with trust -- both in himself and with Colleen -- were just as frustrating. I told him to give Colleen the benefit of the doubt but, guess what? He didn't listen to me either. I was so wrapped up in the dynamics between those two I could barely concentrate on imminent danger hiding just a page away. And just when I thought things were getting better...they weren't. The kind of read that will keep you on your toes right to the very last page.
The action and tension starts as soon as the reader opens the book! The main character is Colleen who is attempting to locate the person responsible for taking her sister’s life. While driving to meet a woman who says she has corroborating evidence, a dangerous storm is bearing down on the area and somehow the killer has located them both!
Both women are injured, one seriously. Colleen is stuck in an Amish community that lovingly takes her in while she waits to get her vehicle repaired, if possible. While there, she meets Special Agent Frank Gallaher who is with the CID, a division in the Army that investigates crimes. While both are healing and helping care for the Amish who also lost much in the storm, tension between Frank and Colleen grows. Their feelings for each other are growing, but can they get past their scars from the past to embrace the future before a killer stops Colleen’s actions for good?
This is an excellent novel that you will be able to read in a sitting, and you’ll want others to read it as well!
