Dawna Markova is the brilliant educator you may never have heard of. Start with her book, How Your Child Is Smart. Recall your young self in childhood and see why you had your preferences for certain types of learning by considering input channels: (visual, kinesthetic, auditory). Then read this one which is about how you and the people you live, play and work with are smart as grown ups. Collaborative Intelligence uses the same theory, but you'll be more honest about how you are "smart" if you start with the child version of you. Then be wowed by this book.Tags : Collaborative Intelligence: Thinking with People Who Think Differently [Dawna Markova, Angie McArthur] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. <b>A breakthrough book on the transformative power of collaborative thinking</b> <b> </b> Collaborative intelligence,Dawna Markova, Angie McArthur,Collaborative Intelligence: Thinking with People Who Think Differently,Spiegel & Grau,0812994906,Interpersonal Relations,Personal Growth - Success,BUSINESS & ECONOMICS Business Communication General.,Business communication,Business communication.,Thought and thinking,Thought and thinking.,BUSINESS & ECONOMICS Business Communication General,BUSINESS & ECONOMICS Organizational Behavior,Business & Economics,Business & EconomicsBusiness Communication - General,Business Economics Finance,Business Communication - General,BusinessEconomics,COMMUNICATION IN BUSINESS,GENERAL,General Adult,How-toDo-it-yourself,Non-Fiction,ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY,Organizational Behavior,PSYCHOLOGY Interpersonal Relations,SELF-HELP Personal Growth Success,SUPERVISION,Social, group or collective psychology,Thought and thinking,Thought and thinking.,United States, colloboration; innovative thinking; mindshare; intellectual diversity; business self help; business communication; business innovation; collaborative thinking; self help; career advice; collaboration in the workplace; business; business books; psychology; psychology books; work; psychology book; books about business; health; management books; mental health; management; self improvement; money; brain; communication; emotions; how to; sociology; inspirational; social science; inspiration; social science books; culture; wealth; rich, colloboration;innovative thinking;mindshare;intellectual diversity;business self help;business communication;business innovation;collaborative thinking;self help;career advice;collaboration in the workplace;business;business books;psychology;psychology books;work;psychology book;books about business;health;management books;mental health;management;self improvement;money;brain;communication;emotions;how to;sociology;inspirational;social science;inspiration;social science books;culture;wealth;rich,BUSINESS & ECONOMICS Business Communication General,BUSINESS & ECONOMICS Organizational Behavior,Business & EconomicsBusiness Communication - General,Business Communication - General,Organizational Behavior,PSYCHOLOGY Interpersonal Relations,SELF-HELP Personal Growth Success,Business Economics Finance,Communication In Business,Supervision,Business & Economics,BusinessEconomics,Social, group or collective psychology

Great ideas for learning how to work with others. We are thinking about having our entire faculty read this next year.
While reading through it felt like I was reading on Psychology of the mind. Excellent read for anyone!!!
As an HR professional who occasionally needs to provide mediation and coaching support at work, I found this book to have a wealth of tools and information. I truly enjoyed it, and have already bought copies to share with my team and family. It is full of new and exciting information. It helped me learn more about how I think and pay attention and how to communicate more effectively with people who think differently than I. These days, creating open work environments (without private phone space or visual barriers) and becoming a more innovative organization is 'all the rage' (at least where I live and work), but sometimes the ideas that are implemented in an organization happen before the individuals are truly understood. After reading this book, it strikes me that understanding how I and other people think and pay attention is an important first step towards creating an innovative and collaborative company. Once that has happened, coming up with new ways to have meetings, gather feedback, make organizational decisions and create collaborative work spaces, will likely be more effective. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to learn how to collaborate respectfully and effectively.
My guess is that the authors are extremely talented consultants and coaches. And, I did learn several valuable things from the book. But, I got a little lost in the details and will have trouble implementing this into my work. I'm not sure that we can say all of their classifications of learning and thinking styles are scientifically valid - I'm sure they are mostly true but that can be dangerous.
This is a brilliant book, encouraging us to pay attention to where we excel, how we are programed to problem solve and how to break free from habitual patterns. It is filled with personal inspirations of how the authors approach learning styles and dynamics in varied and sophisticated companies and moves forward in a positive, intelligent, open minded progression. The message was enlightening, that we can find and practice what we enjoy doing, using our unique skill. I know myself better.....and my husband better. Thank you Dawna and Angie
Absolutely loved this book! Worth the read for its useful tools and step by step worksheets that can be brought to your team in the office. It was helpful to learn of the different Mind Patterns and Thinking Talents of the team, which in turn sparked valuable changes to future job delegations.
Learning how to unlock the potential talents and strengths of others is what this book is about. It's a must-read for anyone working with or leading teams.
In both my history with creating collaboratively diverse thinking within an agency setting as well as within the highly non-creative manufacturing / engineering-led business I have personally experienced success using these tools.
