I have read the next book in this series out of sequence - Amelia’s story. That book is a favorite. This book is a miss.

Enjoyed the writer's style and the story was good with a different twist to it. Nice Christmas based story to read.
jane goodger has written some wonderful romances, but i just can't get into the "christmas series", this didn't appeal to me at all
This author has once again written a lovely sweet romance. I really enjoyed this book. Well written and it left on a cliff hanger in such a way that I am really excited to read the next book to see what happens to his sister.
I recently discovered Ms. Goodger's books and especially enjoy the Christmas stories. They're not your sappy, everyone is good, 'boring' Christmas tales. They have happy endings, but the stories and thoroughly likeable characters face challenges to get there. I'm looking forward to her 2011 Christmas book and will order it as soon as it comes out.
This is a good sequel to Merry Christmas. It picks up right were you left off. Edward and Maggie are two people who love eachother but are engaged to other people or so you think. The plot is interesting and I feel Maggie's pain. My heart was aching as the story evolved but felt relieved in the end. What a sweet ending to such hardships they go through. Love it!
I guess I must have read a different book than the other reviewers. When I read the back blurb it sounded very exciting and different from other romance novels. Also the good reviews on this book convinced me to buy this book. Boy, was I ever wrong. The heroine was a b*** for most of the book, the hero a wimp and it was BORING. It dragged on and on and I had trouble finishing it. Halfway into the book the author set up the characters for her next book which took away from the original couple but I was glad as I was bored with them. In one scene the heroine takes a ship back to America from England ALONE! This is a historical romance and this was unheard of at that time. I got so frustrated that I skipped to the end to get it over with!
The three books in this regency romance trilogy by Jane Goodger are excellent. The books in order are 1st Marry Christmas, 2nd A Christmas Scandal and 3rd A Christmas Waltz; however they make wonderful standalone books as well. I was lucky enough to have read them in order which made them even more enjoyable. All of the main h/h characters were strong, kind and very loveable in the eyes of this reader; not to mention the bits of humorous banter between them scattered here and there. All of the books gave an insight as to the way single and betrothed women had to live in the upper aristocracy of both England and the `New America' `across the pond'. I don't know how thousands of women managed to make it through the first 20 years of their lives with the way they were raised by such crazy harridans . . . not to mention the crazy rules for single women. When I learned that the first book in the series somewhat-mirrored the story of one of America's richest heiresses and a Duke in England, it made it altogether more interesting and exciting. I knew that this practice became common during this period of both countries' histories but to read about it by such a talented author was even more enlightening.

I will be revisiting this trilogy every Christmas season.
